When it comes to living history there is none better than Wilson Machine Works. Occupying the same spot for the last ninety years the shop has not been painted since 1920. Why would you want to paint a machine shop? That would destroy the patina. Is that a leather drive belt? It is. Until very recently many of the machines were belt driven. Recently, and no doubt reluctantly, individual drive motors were installed. Still, should the apocolypse come Wilson Machine Works has merely to reinstall the belts and fire up the steam engine. The apocalypse. No doubt that would be a busy time for a steam drive machine shop.
